Ione Skye, born Ione Skye Leitch on September 4, 1970, in Hampstead, London, is a British-American actress, author, and painter. She is the daughter of folk singer-songwriter Donovan and model Enid Karl, and her middle name, Skye, comes from the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

Ione Skye made her film debut in the thriller "River's Edge" (1986) and gained mainstream exposure for her starring role as Diane Court in Cameron Crowe's "Say Anything..." (1989).

Throughout the 1990s, she appeared in notable films such as "Gas Food Lodging" (1992), "Wayne's World" (1992), and "One Night Stand" (1997). Ione Skye also had a recurring role on the TV show "Arrested Development" and guest-starred in series like "The Twilight Zone" and "Private Practice."

In addition to acting, she is a talented painter whose works have been exhibited in Tokyo and Los Angeles. She has authored several children's books and continues to be active in the arts.

Her personal life includes marriages to Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz and musician Ben Lee, with whom she has a daughter.
