Cynthia Watros, born on September 2, 1968, in Lake Orion, Michigan, is an American actress known for her roles in both daytime and primetime television. She attended Macomb Community College and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre from Boston University.

Cynthia Watros began her career in 1994 when she was cast as Annie Dutton on the CBS soap opera "Guiding Light," a role that earned her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1998. Her character, a nurse, started as a heroine but gradually descended into madness, gaining critical acclaim for Watros.

After "Guiding Light," she appeared in various TV shows, including "Another World," "Titus," and "The Drew Carey Show." In 2005, she joined the cast of the hit ABC series "Lost" as Libby Smith, a psychologist and member of the "Tailies," a group of survivors of the plane crash.

Her performance on "Lost" earned her and the cast a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2006.

In recent years, she has been starring as Nina Reeves on ABC's "General Hospital" since 2019. Her career also includes appearances in TV movies and short films such as "Mercy Streets," "The Yellow Bird," "P.S. Your Cat Is Dead," and "Calvin Marshall."

Cynthia Watros was previously married to Curtis Gilliland, and they have two children, Emma Rose Marie and Sadie Anna Marie.
