Michael Jeffrey Jordan, born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he developed a passion for basketball.

He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he made the game-winning shot in the 1982 NCAA Championship game. He was named College Player of the Year in both his sophomore and junior years before leaving college to enter the NBA draft in 1984.

Michael Jordan was selected by the Chicago Bulls as the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. He quickly became known for his scoring ability, athleticism, and competitive spirit. In his rookie season, he averaged 28.2 points per game and was named NBA Rookie of the Year.

Over his career, he led the Bulls to six NBA championships, winning titles in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998. He was named NBA Finals MVP in each of those championship years. Jordan also won five regular-season MVP awards and was a 14-time NBA All-Star. His career achievements include ten scoring titles, ten All-NBA First Team selections, and nine All-Defensive First Team honors.

Michael Jordan briefly retired from basketball in 1993 to pursue a career in baseball but returned to the NBA in 1995. He retired again in 1999 but made a second comeback in 2001, playing two seasons with the Washington Wizards before retiring for good in 2003. Beyond his basketball career, he has been a successful businessman. He became the principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets in 2010.
