Olivia Brown

Olivia Brown, born around 1956 or 1957 in Frankfurt, West Germany, and raised in Sacramento, California, is an American actress best recognized for her portrayal of Detective Trudy Joplin on the iconic NBC crime drama Miami Vice from 1984 to 1989.

After graduating from C.K. McClatchy High School, she received a scholarship to Parsons School of Design in New York but opted to stay closer to family, attending Sacramento City College and Sacramento State College instead.

Her entry into acting came after relocating to Hollywood, where she worked as a waitress before landing her feature film debut as Candy in the 1982 action comedy 48 Hrs. alongside Eddie Murphy.
