His innovative approach to superhero storytelling, which combined superhuman abilities with human insecurities and emotions, revolutionized the comic book industry.

His personal life was marked by a long and loving marriage to Joan Clayton Boocock, whom he married in 1947. The couple had two children, Joan Celia Lee and Jan Lee, although Jan passed away shortly after birth. Joan Lee passed away in 2017, and Stan Lee himself died on November 12, 2018, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 95.
