Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone, born on July 6, 1946, in New York City, is an American actor and filmmaker who has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.

Sylvester Stallone was born in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. His parents were Jacqueline "Jackie" Stallone, a women's professional wrestling promoter, and Francesco "Frank" Stallone Sr., a hairdresser.

He had a challenging childhood, dealing with an abusive father and health problems from birth complications. After his parents' divorce in 1957, he moved to Philadelphia to live with his mother and her second husband.
